August 2025 Maintenance Release for Android 12 Devices

On August 15th, 2025, Elo will release new OS updates across its Android 12 devices. These updates include feature enhancements and bug fixes to improve device performance and usability. These updates will be available for download on the EloView cloud portal as a dropdown and will become the default OTA download on EloView and OEMConfig as of August 22nd, 2025. New features and enhancements:

I-Series 4 Standard and Value - Android 12

  • Added dropdown OTA support in Android Settings for major and minor software updates.
  • Added a shortcut for the Peripheral Connect Demo Application in Elo Stock Apps.
  • Added the ability to configure the Payment Auto Reboot Timer in Android Settings.
  • Added long-term support for DisplayLink-enabled external displays without requiring a reboot or user permission prompts in EloView mode.
  • Resolved an issue where the TeamViewer application installation failed on some devices, displaying a persistent Retry button.
  • Resolved an issue where the SetPackageNameAndPermission() API only applied permissions to the last package provided.
  • Resolved an issue where the 'Device name' or 'Site name' was not appended to a Web App URL deployed from EloView after an enterprise data reset.
  • Implemented TLS 1.2 disablement to ensure cryptographic security compliance.

Added API support for the following:

  • Configure the daily auto-reboot time.
  • Manage the media projection dialog for a specific package.
  • Retrieve all package names that currently have media projection permission granted.
  • Manage the media projection dialog for all packages on the system.
  • Check if media projection permission is enabled for all system packages.
  • Configure the payment daily auto-reboot time.
  • Adjust DPI for secondary displays.
  • Manage Bluetooth and Wi-Fi scanning.
  • Retrieve the serial number of built-in scanners on M60 and M100 devices.

Elo Pay 7" and Elo Pay M100 - Android 12

This release delivers feature parity with the previous I-Series 4.0 Android 12 release (6.000.016.0048+p, November 2024). All applicable features, improvements, and fixes from that release are included for these platforms.

In addition to feature catch up of I-Series 4.0 Android 12 November 2024 release below features have been added:

  • Added support for Elo Pay Remote Key Injection
  • EloViewHomeSDK 2.0 with synchronous API support for Kotlin ViewModels, improving scalability, readability, and ease of integration while allowing coexistence with the previous SDK.

As always, your devices will never prompt for an update or auto-update. Once the update is available, devices can be updated from the EloView Portal or at the device-level from the EloView Control Panel. Other MDM users can leverage Auto and Manual Update feature of Elo OEMConfig to update the devices.
